Abstract

Varsha Ritu (rainy season) presents unique physiological challenges that require specific dietary modifications according to Ayurvedic principles. During this season, compromised digestive fire (Agni), increased atmospheric moisture, and elevated Vata dosha create conditions that predispose individuals to various health disorders. Classical Ayurvedic texts emphasize the importance of following specific dietary guidelines (Ahara Vidhi) during Varsha to maintain optimal health and prevent seasonal ailments. This article examines the traditional dietary regimen prescribed for the rainy season, its scientific rationale, and practical applications in contemporary lifestyle management.
